Guitars & Grooves has been a longtime dream of owner Bill Phaneuf. He’s always been very keen on having guitars and vinyl as the main components to his shop and says, “I knew there had to be more folks out there like me, loving guitars and vinyl records.” In 2021, Guitars & Grooves opened its doors in Hudson, MA, bursting with vinyl records and quality pre-owned guitars.
G&G is a no pressure, relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. All the guitars in the shop -- including Ibanez, PRS, Epihone, Fender, Washburn, Squier, Martin, Yamaha, and others -- are set up, re-strung and ready to play right off the walls! Bill and his team really emphasize having fun, as many of their visitors are new players, and the staff works hard to get them what they need to begin their musical journey.
Bill’s own passion for guitars started when he saw KISS at the age of 12. Since then, he’s been hooked on rock and roll and counts Jimmy Page as one of his greatest influences (noted by the many Led Zeppelin posters adorning the shop’s walls). He’s a huge Gibson Les Paul fan, referring to the 1959 Gibson Les Paul as the “holy grail,” but he’s found the “one” -- an ‘02 Les Paul Standard in Lemon Burst, with a slightly reliced vintage look -- and says it the best guitar he’s ever played.
In addition to collecting, the most rewarding part of the job for Bill is when a vintage guitar comes into the shop -- and then making them come to life and play great again for the next generation of players.
