Lidgett Music is located in Council Bluffs, Iowa and is one of the longest-standing businesses on the historic 100 Block. Since the early 1960s, the shop’s location has played a significant role in the area’s musical history.

Back then, it was known as House of Music and was later bought by the Berry Brothers, who had a local record label and music store. Sean Lidgett’s brother Joe worked at Berry’s, and, along with their other brothers Jim and Scott, they were constantly playing instruments in their basement. Sean was incredibly inspired by his brothers and their deep love of music, and in 1988, Lidgett Music was born.

Sean has said, “I thought everyone’s basements were full of guitars,” and made it his and the shop’s mission to support up-and-coming musicians and promote their love of music.

Unfortunately, Sean passed away in January, and his friend Rob Schlautman, who has managed the shop for the past 18 years, purchased Lidgett Music, vowing to continue the same level of quality service, selection, and dedication to the community that Sean and their team have provided since 1988.

Recently remodeled, Lidgett boasts an amazing collection of curated brands that will truly amaze guitar players of all levels, including Fender, Gibson, Martin, Taylor, PRS, Suhr, Collings, Bourgeois, Huss and Dalton, LSL, Warwick, Sadowsky, Gretsch, Charvel, Eastman, and Maestro Guitars from Singapore.
