FEATURED SHOP OF THE MONTH
"Music is personal. Let us help you find the find the right instrument."
That’s the driving force behind Monkton Guitars, a web-based guitar shop, launched in 1989 by David Williams and his best friend Bruce Hudson in Monkton, Maryland (David’s hometown). In 1997, David and the business moved to Boulder, Colorado, and finally, in April, 2019, David followed his passion and opened Monkton Guitars as a brick and mortar music shop in the neighboring town of Broomfield.
David has always loved guitars and was interested in vintage pieces, as well as buying and selling used gear at an early age. He’s also an avid collector of guitar-related memorabilia, including photos of musicians and original concert posters, much of which you’ll see on display throughout the shop.
(Fun Fact: Monkton Guitars is located in a 1960’s Broomfield post office, and the more expensive vintage instruments are stored in the post office’s bank vault!)
For over 30 years, Monkton Guitars has supplied working musicians with both collectable and player-grade vintage guitars, specializing in Gibson, Fender, Paul Reed Smith, Epiphone, Eastman, Cordoba/Guild, Nash, McPherson, Henriksen, Marshall, and Supro, and also carry locally made guitars from Gillian Marsh, Matt McGibney, Isle of Skye and Jerry Baker. The shop has a vast selection of instruments for all levels of guitar players and also offers guitar, bass, ukulele and violin lessons.
