FEATURED SHOP OF THE MONTH
The legendary Arthur’s Music Store was founded in 1952 by Amos Arthur and his wife Leola. Located in the Historic Fountain Square of Indianapolis, Indiana, Arthur’s Music is now owned and operated by Amos and Leola’s daughter Linda (Arthur) Osborne and granddaughter Amy (Osborne) England.
Amos retired from the shop in 1978 and passed in 2005. He was a Big Band guitarist and was known to be a “remarkable man with the soul of a musician and the precise brain of an engineer.” A skilled machinist (he served with distinction as an Army machinist in World War II), Amos invented several mechanical teaching aids for learning to play the pedal steel guitar.
Arthur’s Music continues to provide to the highest level of quality and personal service that Amos instilled in his family almost 70 years ago. The shop is proud to see third and fourth generation customers being introduced to fine quality stringed instruments, including Martin, Sigma, LaPatrie, Alvarez, Seagull, Washburn, Peavey, Reverend, Gretsch, Jackson, Michael Kelly, Hofner, and many others.
The shop also offers private music lessons, instrument repair/restoration, and has an internationally recognized, award-winning sales staff.
Named one of the Top 100 Dealers in the country by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), “Arthur’s Music Store is an important ambassador for making music in Indianapolis and exemplifies the passion for making music that unites us all.” - Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM
