FEATURED SHOP OF THE MONTH
The Olde Town Pickin' Parlor is a destination music shop located in Olde Town Arvada, Colorado, and caters to acoustic musicians across the southwest United States. Established by Kit Simon (aka “Uncle Kit”) in 1991, the shop has a one-of-a-kind collection of new, used and vintage instruments for the discerning collector, professional and recreational player.
When you visit The Pickin’ Parlor (located in a former blacksmithing shop just 10 miles west of Denver), you’ll find some of the finest guitars in the world lining the walls, including Collings, Martin, Eastman, Gretsch, Gibson, as well as an extensive stock of flat-top, finger style, flat-picking and arch-top guitars. Lessons are available for most stringed instruments, and many of the shop’s talented instructors have been there since the store opened. The highly skilled repair shop crew is on hand to fix anything from vintage Martins to entry-level acoustic guitars, mandolins, violins, banjos, basses and electric guitars.
Stop into Olde Town Pickin' Parlor – and you’ll be greeted by Toby Juan Kenobi, the three-legged yellow Labrador and the shop’s official greeter (as well as the unofficial mayor of Olde Town Arvada). You’ll get some licks before you play some licks!
